(Cayman 27) The Cayman Turtle Farm reports some good news.
We checked with them about this year’s turtle release –one of the Pirates Week annual events, and it turns out a number of the endangered little turtles will be tagged and released into the wild this year.
It’s been tough the past few years for the green sea turtle population, but things are finally turning around. The farm has also been working on improving the diet of the breeders — which seems to be paying off.
The turtle release is on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the North Sound Golf Club House where people can even sponsor a turtle and release it yourself into the sea.
