Cayman Turtle Centre Welcomes Cayman Parrot Twins in the Aviary
08Aug 2014

August 08, 2014…. The twins are here! This year’s twin offspring for the breeding Cayman Parrots Sweetpea & Leo at the Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter emerged from their nest box in late July.

This is the first time this pair has successfully raised two chicks since they began breeding 5 years ago. The twins join their big sister “Junior 2013” who has been re-named April and who will soon be released into the wild.

The new parrot chicks so far have been named “Twin #1” and “Twin #2” by CTF Terrestrial Programmes staff (until they come up with something better). They are already drawing lots of “Ooooh’s!” and “Aaaah’s!” from Aviary visitors, who have been taking lots of snapshots of the cute and colourful pair.

Come and see them for yourself down in the Caribbean Free-flight Aviary.

For more information and admission rates, call the Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter on 949-3894, email info@turtle.ky or visit www.turtle.ky
