This Discovery Day, Monday, 21st May the Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter will host a Family Fun Day and Barbeque.
In an effort to make the Cayman Islands’ most popular land-based visitor attraction accessible to as many residents as possible, the Cayman Turtle Centre is offering very special low pricing for Cayman residents on Discovery Day – just CI$5 for adults and $2 for children. Children under 4 are completely free.
“The purpose of this event is to showcase the entire park to the local community as there is so much to experience here that many residents may still not know about,” said Chief Marketing Officer Tina Trumbach.
”We are especially excited about new Turtle Twister Waterslide which opened just before Christmas last year and which has proven to be a popular addition for guests,” she said.
Local residents visiting the Cayman Turtle Centre on Discovery Day will have access to the entire park, including the new waterslide, and the new Wading Touch Tank Pools, where guests can get in and play with yearling turtles.
They can also join the entertaining and informative park tours, swim with turtles and other marine life in Turtle Lagoon, hand feed exotic birds and catch the amusing feeding shows at Predator Reef and also at Smiley’s Saltwater Lagoon where the Centre’s 9 foot Cayman crocodile resides.
Residents should note that there is a separate cost of US$99 and limited space of just 6 people per session for this new attraction, so it is best to sign up early. Sessions are scheduled daily at 9am and 2pm.
All day long during the Discovery Day event, there will be lots of food and beverage specials, cotton candy, prizes and excitement for the entire family – complete with music at Breakers Lagoon by DJ Domuneek.
Two annual resident passes, which allow unlimited admission to the Cayman Turtle Centre for 12 months, are also available to be won for guests who fill out an exit survey on their experience at the Cayman Turtle Centre on Discovery Day.
The Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter will be open from 8:00am until 5:00pm on Discovery Day, Monday 21st May 2012.
