Pedal to the Point's starts off at Cayman Turtle Centre
24Nov 2014

November 24th 2014…… The “Pedal to the Point” cycling event started at Cayman Turtle Centre at 7:00 AM on Saturday, 22 November.

H.E. the Governor Helen Kilpatrick did the honors as starter. There were approximately 120 cyclists registered for the event, which is organized as a charity fundraiser by the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.

The bicycle ride went from Cayman Turtle Centre to Rum Point following the coastal road all the way around through South Sound and on through East End and the Queen’s Highway. Some of the riders are in teams of four “stages” for the route, but many of them are riding the whole way.

Proceeds from the event are going towards the “Six for Hospice” charity fundraising by marathon runner Rotarian Derek Haines.

Cayman Turtle Centre assisted by granting the event free use of its car park and courtyard.

“Pedal to the Point” was deemed an outstanding success on its first time ever, and is anticipated to become an annual charity fundraising event.
