St. Ignatius High School Students Create New Hatchery Mural
22Dec 2014

December 22, 2014……A new turtle themed mural has been installed at the Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter’s Education Centre to decorate the Hatchery window.

Entitled “Life of a Turtle,” the mural was created by St. Ignatius Catholic High School Year 10 art students under the guidance of their teacher (and renowned local artist) Mr. John Broad.

Each year, the Cayman Turtle Centre invites school art classes to create a mural for this space, which is displayed until nesting season begins. Last year, Grace Christian Academy art students submitted the winning turtle-themed mural design that they produced on a giant-sized canvas to display in front of the window during the turtle nesting off-season.

Hundreds of visitors and art admirers view the murals each year, and it has become a popular photo attraction for guests at the Cayman Turtle Centre.
