The Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter has unveiled the opening of its latest attraction – the Turtle Twister.
It's billed as ‘an all-new water thrill slide’ featuring two sweeping loops and 600 gallons of water per minute pushed down the tube that will have riders splashing. The water slide attraction is the first of its kind in the Cayman Islands and, according to the Turtle Centre, is ‘a smash hit not only for the Centre, but also as an important added attraction to the tourism industry as a whole.’
“We’re creating unique experiences at the Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter,” said Managing Director Tim Adam. “Along with our new branding earlier this year came new aspirations to ensure that our park would be recognised as one of the best attractions in the Caribbean. We are confident that Turtle Twister will help successfully move us in that direction.”
Turtle Twister stands at 14 feet 6 inches tall with a total length of 105 feet that has riders ending with a splash into Breaker’s Lagoon, the largest fresh water pool in Grand Cayman, which also boasts two waterfalls. Single riders must be at least 4 feet tall, but the family friendly ride does allow smaller riders who can swim to slide down with an adult.
Raymond Hydes, chief sales officer, said he was excited to be able to invite all residents and visitors to enjoy the slide during the Christmas Holidays.
“This has been a dream of mine for over three years now and our research has shown that it is something many guests have had on their wish list for us,” he said. “After much hard work by our whole team, I am beyond proud to see it come to fruition; I am sure it will be well received
by all.”
