On February 19th, 2012 Cayman Turtle Centre released a 2nd-generation captive-bred 2-year-old Green Sea turtle with a satellite tracking tag. This is the first time that this project has ever been attempted with a green sea turtle that has been bred, hatched and raised in captivity. The sponsoring family has named their green sea turtle Jerry and released him in front of their beach home on Queen’s Highway, East End in Grand Cayman, where Jerry will be able to find a lot of turtle grass inside the reef to get him started on his travels. We are excited to invite you to join Jerry on his adventures by tracking his location online – to follow Jerry visit this link http://www.seaturtle.org/tracking/index.shtml?tag_id=112227
We are excited to announce that we are now in the process of preparing a 3-year-old turtle for release with a satellite tracking tag as well. Please let us know if you are interested in sponsoring by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Good luck Jerry!
