Our well-trained staff is committed to the animals in our care. Our residents receive excellent professional veterinary and husbandry care, with two full-time veterinarians, along with keepers and a team of biologists on staff. The Centre consults with the respected Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and Species 360 zoo/ aquarium species inventory management system.
We inspire guests to save turtles through unmatched, up-close, supervised interactions in a safe and respectful environment.
Our aquatic support systems provide a healthy and safe home for the turtles and our other marine species. Our breeding bay contains 370,000 gallons of saltwater with more than 5,000 gallons of seawater being pumped through it each minute, ensuring a fresh and clean habitat.
The turtles are provided with a special nutrition program based on the Centre’s own feed formula developed after careful study of their ocean diet. They are fed three times daily by dedicated husbandry staff with the appropriate type of feed and portions for each life stage.
From turtles and sharks to butterflies and parrots, many species call the Centre home. Our entire Animal Care Team is dedicated to the welfare of all animals under our care, ensuring their best health and development. We pay particular attention to our conservation programme for turtles and parrots in order to give them the best chance of survival upon their release into the wild.
