Caribbean-Aviary-CMS

Not all of our animal friends live in the water at the Cayman Turtle Centre. Stroll on down to the Caribbean Aviary to meet local and exotic Caribbean birds, including the endemic Cayman parrot, our national bird, and the colourful Scarlet Ibis, and chat with the keepers about the conservation programmes going on behind the scenes at the Aviary.

  • Our feathered friends at the Aviary are quite used to visitors getting close to take photos, but don’t touch! You can get even more up close and personal with supervised hand-feeding of most of the Aviary’s resident birds, a sure delight for both kids and adults!
  • On the way to or from the Aviary, take the time to look out for our peafowl, aka “peacocks and peahens” on their very own islands in the middle of the Turtle Lagoon. There is a beautiful white peacock to see as well as the more traditional blue peacock. At the right time of year, you may be lucky enough to see the two peacocks each displaying their beautiful tail feathers on their respective islands!
