Our head-started Green sea turtles have been raised at our Centre for the first year or two of their life. These first few years of growth give them the protection they need against most ocean predators and the greatest chance for survival. They are ready for release into the wild and have a great chance of survival, independent research and studies show.
You can adopt one of these head-started turtles and give them a unique name before gathering with your closest friends or family to release them into the wild. All of our head-started turtles that are released from our Centre are micro-chipped, and if they return and lay eggs many years from now, this can be detected by the micro-chip.
