What happens if the event cannot go ahead due to weather or other factors?
  • Please note that in the event of inclement weather, or a lack of hatchlings ready to be released, it is possible that we may need to reschedule this event. In the event that we need to reschedule, our team will endeavor to contact you individually by phone to advise and arrange an alternative date that is convenient for you.
Can I take photos?
  • We will be using special turtle-friendly (red) lights only. You are welcome to take pictures or video as a reminder of this special occasion but no flash photography please as white lights startle turtles and can cause the hatchlings to be disorientated.
Do I need to bring anything?
  • There is no need to bring anything with you but we do recommend that you apply bug spray before you arrive as mosquitos can be quite common, and feisty, at this time of the evening.
Where will the release be held?
  • The location is kept secret to protect the experience and the group size, however, the release will be held at a location in the Seven Mile Beach area. You will receive an email advising of the location and further directions during the 24 hours prior to the event.
Can we drive ourselves to the release?
  • Yes, depending on the exacting location, you will be able to drive to the location or to a rendezvous point. The secret location will be revealed to you during the 24 hours prior to the release.
