CTC’s captive breeding programme is going from strength to strength. Grand Cayman Parrots are unique to the Cayman Islands – so it is vital that they are protected as much as possible as new developments arise and the possibility of disrupting their habitat is increased. Curator – Terrestrial Exhibits and Education Programmes, Mr. Geddes Hislop said: “Our breeding Cayman parrot Sweetpea is now sitting on 3 eggs (same as last year). Aviary staff are monitoring her progress via our installed parrot nest cam (which will hopefully soon be accessible on the CTC website). We expect the eggs to hatch in early June- hopefully that means a third set of Triplets!”
